Audio:

It’s time to start considering HTML5 for your next project. Many aspects of HTML5 work today, others are right around the corner. What is the state of browser support for HTML5? Why would you want to use it? And how in the world can you get Drupal to fully-output HTML5? (Some parts are quite easy. Others are not.) I’ll talk about this and more, including how you can join the movement to transform Drupal into a HTML5-generating machine.

Intended audience: This is for both "coders" and "themers". It's about all of the HTML created by Drupal — by Drupal core, contributed modules, and themes.

Skill level: targeted towards people who know something about Drupal theming or module development, and have some experience with standards-based HTML.

Questions answered by this session:

  1. When can I start using HTML5? Why is it cool?
  2. How can I use HTML5 with Drupal? (Isn’t this easy? Just rewrite the tpls… oh wait, but, uh, wait, uh, wha? Oh that’s not easy. So what do I do?)
  3. How can I contribute to making Drupal work more easily with HTML5?
  4. What’s the plan for the future: HTML5 and Drupal 8?
  5. Where can I learn more about HTML5?

Jen,
Awesome presentation. Didn't even know what HTML5 was, now I do and look forward to using it!

Complements on a good presentation today Jen - I learned a lot from it. In my opinion, it was the best one of the day (at least of the ones I attended).
